It’s been a long year and boy, has a lot happened. 3 years since I faded out from the blog, two babies which are so not babies anymore. A whole lot of love, some downs (welcoming change) and as I’ve just blinked it’s already nearly 2020.

I don’t know how that really happened, but it’s all been a blur, a transition period looking back retrospectively on it, but here we are again with all types of projects, so much to do and so much to tell! Cherry Beauty Lounge presents – BTL EXILIS ELITE.


It’s dawned on me recently that I am in fact getting older, I know many will think about my age and then wonder to themselves, what? Older? But let’s face it, going through a few pregnancies, sleepless nights with babies, just a general mama life and all the rest of the worldly chaos (which I love being a part of – really takes a toll on your body. And it is only recently that I’ve started waking up and wondering to myself, ‘wow, I’ve started ageing.’ Not that there is anything wrong with ageing, however, as I’m running around a majority of my time, nursery runs, shopping, baby clubs, lunch dates, shopping again, photoshoots, I want to stay as fresh faced as possible, for as long as possible, in the most natural way possible. So today I explored and did my first ever facial treatment – BTL EXILIS ELITE. 

I wanted to write here on the blog a little about it, because honestly, I loved it, non invasive, hydrating and personalised to me, it’s the perfect treatment for a mama on the go and for sanity’s sake it’s great to be a little spoilt every now and again. Most of you have probably never heard about BTL EXILIS ELITE, (I hadn’t, but I am so glad I discovered it!), therefore I thought that in this post I’ll take you a little bit through exactly what this treatment is and what it consists of.

What is BTL EXILIS ELITE? – The BTS EXILIS ELITE is a non invasive face and body contouring device, designed to tighten skin whilst reducing fat and signs of fine lines and wrinkles.

It uses a combination of monopolar radio frequency (RF) energy, ultrasound to stimulate fat lipolysis (the breakdown of fat cells) and collagen remodelling (for skin tightening), alongside skin cooking, helping to contour the body and face.

HOW DOES IT WORK? – The Exilis Elite uses a combination of radiofrequency energy (3.4Mhz up to 120 Watts), ultrasound and skin cooling to deliver controlled heating to target deep tissue, addressing deeper wrinkles, sagging skin, as well as the superficial skin layer, treating finer lines.

The tip of the applicator on the end of the handpiece uses focused thermal (heat) energy to disrupt the collagen fibres deep within the skin. The aim of treatment is to raise the temperature at the skin surface to 40-42°C for 4 or 5 minutes in each area treated to achieve the collagen tightening. This will be felt as a warming sensation (feels like a warm face massage.)

HOW QUICK ARE RESULTS OBTAINED? – Like most non invasive treatments, results differ from person to person, however, on a general note it is recommended 1-2 sessions every 2 weeks, with a visible change within 2-3 months, with the best results being seen at 6 months (where treatment most likely will no longer be needed except for maintenance).

So there you have it, a quick overall idea on what exactly is the BTL EXILIS ELITE treatment, on my next blog post I will write a little further in depth on the steps and process of the treatment, also which serums were used personalised to me. Am realizat recent ca de fapt îmbătrânesc, știu ca unii dintre voi va gândiți la vârsta mea și va întrebați, ce? Îmbătrânit? Dar haideți sa fim sinceri, doua nașteri, nopți nedormite cu bebelușii, si in general viața de mamă și restul haosului de zi cu zi (căruia cu drag ii fac aparțin, dar care lasă urme pe corpul meu). Și doar recent m-am trezit și am realizat ca “wow îmbătrânesc?!” Nu ca ar fi ceva foarte in neregula cu asta, dar alergând in marea majoritate a timpului, ducând copiii la grădinițe, cumpărături, cluburi cu copiii, întâlniri la prânz, cumpărături din nou, ședințe foto, vreau ca fata mea sa fie in cea ma proaspătă stare, pentru cât mai mult timp și in cel mai natural mod. Drept urmare astăzi am hotărât sa experimentez primul meu tratament facial numit – BTL EXILIS ELITE. 

Am vrut sa scriu aici pe blog puțin despre el pentru ca sincer îmi place foarte mult, neinvaziv, hidratant și personalizat pentru tenul meu, e tratamentul perfect pentru o mama extrem de activa și sinceră sa fiu pentru ați menține mintea limpede din când in când. Mulți dintre voi nu ați auzit probabil de BTL EXILIS ELITE, (nici eu, dar ma bucur ca l-am descoperit! ), prin urmăre am hotărât ca in aceast articol sa trecem peste exact ce este și in ce consta acest tratament.

Ce înseamnă BTL EXILIS ELITE? BTL EXILIS ELITE este un aparat nonevaziv pentru conturul fetei și al corpului, conceput pentru ați strânge pielea in același timp cu reducerea grasimei și a liniilor fine, a unor riduri.

Folosește o combinație de energie monopalara prin radiofrecvențe, ultrasunete pentru a stimula procesul de lipoliză (topirea grăsimilor) și remodelare cu colagen (pentru întinderea pielii) pentru a ajuta la modelarea fetei și corpului.

Cum funcționează? EXILIS ELITE folosește o combinație de energie prin radiofrecvențe( 3.4 MHz pana la 120 Watts), ultrasunete și răcirea pielii pentru a livra caldura controlată in adâncul țesutului, adresându-se astfel unor riduri mai adânci, pielii lăsate, dar și la suprafața pielii tratând riduri mai fine.

Vârful aplicatorului folosește energie termala focusată pentru a întrerupe fibrele de colagen din adâncul pielii. Acest tratament urmărește sa crească temperatura la nivelul pielii la 40-42°C timp de 4-5 minute pe fiecare arie tratată pentru a iniția colangenul strângă pielea. ( acest proces se va simți precum un masaj călduț )

Cât de repede se vor vedea rezultate? Precum cele mai comune tratamente neinvazive, rezultatele diferă de la persoana la persoana, dar ca o nota generala se recomanda 1-2 sesiuni la interval de 2 săptămâni, cu rezultate clar vizibile după 2-3 luni, iar cele mai bune rezultate după 6 luni. (După aceasta perioada cel mai probabil va fi nevoie doar menținere) .

Finding a comfort zone.

We’ve fast forwarded to 2019 and here I am back again after a literal eternity, on my blog. Untouched, dusty, yet waiting for me. With blog posts only I have written, words that have crossed my mind only and spilled from my fingers onto my keyboard, here my blog, a part of me, waits. Already a few steps behind the fashion, it already needs a re-do, to be fancy and glam and back up to date.

However, today I’m not here to talk about how I’m going to re-do my blog, what I will be posting or what about, I’m sure you’ll find out yourself as the days go by. Today I’m posting about our comfort zones.

A phrase which we’ve been accustomed to dislike and one we’re always being told to leave, to jump out of, something we should leave behind in order to enable us to go further, reach higher and run faster. Do I disagree completely? No. Do I have something to say about this? I always have something to say about everything.

Whilst all or none of the above may be true about comfort zones, whilst you’re reading this on a Monday morning I want you to truly think about what is our comfort zone and why is it called this? Because to me it seems almost like it has been tainted with a black mark. Like we’re almost supposed to hate feeling comfortable with ourselves, such a paradox. When in another way, beings can only achieve great things if they are comfortable in and within themselves.

How can I achieve great things if I’m not constantly in a comfortable zone with myself? Does the phrase ‘comfort zone’ really portray what we think it means? Can we not stay there and also jump higher, reach our goals, the stars and beyond? A comfort is a comfort and yes, of course, if we take this away we are putting ourselves into an agitated state in order to push our minds, bodies and spirits to regain this back. And then what? We’re pushing it further and out the boundary again. A constant push and pull, a discipline which teaches us to take away and then self reward. Whilst in the long term there of course is nothing entirely wrong with this, I have started viewing things in another perspective.

S E L F LOVE. Is an expression in which I have taken great interest in lately and within this I have found a greater and deeper perspective of seeing things, a way of being in which you love who you are enough to want more for yourself. You are so comfortable with yourself it gives you great confidence to go and reach what you think further belongs to you and claim it as yours.

So, on this Monday morning I am pondering the link between self love, comfort zones and where we really need to be in order to reach our goals. What are your thoughts on this?

Fasting February Results

Hello, hello, welcome to March. I would love to say welcome to SPRING, buuut I have seen that all over Europe we are very much still stuck in snow, so spring will have to wait. However, for my fellow followers, the 1st of March signified something else…it signified the end of fasting February, and with that the RESULTS! Reflecting upon ourselves.

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about the way in which I want to raise my children, in hindsight my views on child raising have changed tremendously from the time I was pregnant with Ayan to now being a mother of two children. Not only am I a mother of two children but I am blessed to be a mother of a boy and a girl, along with this blessing, I feel comes great responsibility, as the days go by and my beautiful children grow with each passing day, I find myself wondering about the future. Curious about how they will look like, what they will be when they are older, what their favourite subjects at school will be, what will their first boyfriends and girlfriends will look like. Just all the fun and crazy stuff that most mothers think of but will rarely admit to, but  you know me, no filter here, unless it’s on instagram…of course.

My daughter is the closest soul to me since I graced the earth with my presence, I don’t know if it’s our star signs, our personalities or whatever you would like to believe in, but my energy and hers are so in sync and never has a being loved me as much as this little being loves me (I know I’m lucky right). Everywhere I am,  you will find her there too, in my arms, hanging around my legs, playing with my make up, putting her hands in my plate, today she was taking out my fresh washing out the basket onto the floor, as I was trying to put them to dry. And all of a sudden as I was methodically putting the washing to dry her playful presence misted into the distance and thoughts started flying into my head, how will it be when we finally have to separate? Will we suffer? Will she blossom from my branch into her own flower? How will she deal with heartbreak? How will my daughter see herself in the future? How will she present herself to her first boyfriend? How much self esteem will she have? How will she see into her inner self?

You see, I am a mother of only 24 years old, it wasn’t long ago I was a confused teenager, lost, with no guidance, no healthy relationship models in my life, except for the ones which I found myself. I remember the confusion like it was yesterday, the confusion of love and self being, the fogginess of a kiss and not tell the next day, the heartbreaking mist of what it felt like to not know what was wrong with me when a guy treated me bad. As I’ve grown up I’ve slowly, slowly pushed the painful memories to the back of my head, suppressing them as though they never really happened, because at the end of the day, that’s what we are taught to do by the people around us and by civilization right?

It is so rare a woman opens up her wounds after she has haphazardly sewn them in her younger days, why is that? All that leads to is generations upon generations of confused hearts always wondering what’s wrong with them in response to an external consequence.

So lesson one to my babygirl is going to be about those stolen kisses, those kisses with those who love her and also with those who don’t. I came across recently this conversation with a close friend after meeting with a guy she liked, he never called, so she started wondering what was wrong with her. What had she done wrong? Was she not pretty enough? Was she not a good enough kisser? Was her personality miserable?

I said nothing, I merely comforted my friend, yet now I wish I could go back and tell her the things I will proceed to tell my daughter..

If you kiss someone and they don’t call you, then that is no reason to self attack or self judge. It doesn’t mean that something was wrong with you, it is not a reflection of your inadequacies, because my love, you have none, you have differences, some which are accepted and others which are declined by those around you. And that is okay. We don’t have to like everyone around us right? This is the same, if someone doesn’t call you back, whatever the circumstance may be, this is not a reflection of you but a reflection of that person, it is they who is lost in the stormy mess of thoughts with which they cannot be honest with. It is a reflection of their taste and their dislikes and their personal preferences, it is a reflection of how they view the world and you within it…after all, it is THEY who did not get back to you. So love freely my darling, be wild but never ask yourself why someone else left you with unanswered questions, it is ironically, merely a question with which you will have to ask them.

WordPress on the Weekend.

Hi guys, so it’s the weekend and I’m going to be enjoying it with my family, what are you guys up to this weekend? My intermittent fasting posts were a hit over here on the blog and I just wanted to take some time out to THANK YOU guys for liking and reading my posts!

This week, not only did we reach *MOST LIKES* in a day at Life of a Chocolate Girl but we also reached *100 followers on the blog*! To some this may be a miniscule amount but to me this is a mountain, hopefully my first of many mountains, I would not have reached here without my subscribers and I am so grateful and happy for my mini milestones which I have reached.

So to celebrate these mini milestones, I am planning so much for you on the blog, amongst all the chaos of the family, I have so many life changes which have taken place and as always I will be bring you on every journey with me. For the moment we will remain on the journey through intermittent fasting and on the next blog post I want to talk more to you guys about KETOSIS…so keep an eye out.

Știință in spatele postului intermitent.

Ți-am spus despre postul intermitent, despre ce înseamnă în postările precedente, iar in blog-ul de astăzi îți voi da o scurtă trecere peste ce spune ȘTIINȚA despre postul intermitent, cum funcționează și mai mult de ce ne este de folos.

Deci, postul intermitent vizează mai ales perioadele de 16: 8. Asta înseamnă 16 ore de post și o fereastră de 8 ore în care mancăm. Dacă nu știți ce înseamnă acest lucru, puteți citi totul despre asta pe postarea mea anterioară pe blog făcând clic aici.

Atunci când o persoană se hrănește intermitent, ei mănâncă adesea în blocul de 8 ore, lăsându-i cu cele 16 ore de post (acest lucru este, în general, cel mai frecvent tip de post intermitent – unele pot face perioade mai scurte sau mai lungi). Acest lucru face diferența între oamenii care nu urmează postul intermitent deoarece, după aproximativ 10-12 ore, au loc următoarele schimbări în corpul nostruȘ

1. Când mâncăm, de obicei depozităm energia sub formă de glicogen în ficat, totuși după 10-12 ore de post, nivelul glicogenului devine extrem de scăzut. În majoritatea cazurilor acest lucru va însemna nu numai că veți începe să simțiți senzația de foame, ci și o stare de nervozitate, termen pe care mulți dintre noi îl cunoaștem astăzi ca HANGRY(hungry + angry), dar mai important …

2. Cu puțin glicogen rămas, celulele grase din corpul tău eliberează grăsime în sânge. Grăsimea care a fost eliberată face ca ficatul să transforme această grăsime în energie pentru utilizare de către organism și chiar mai important pentru continuarea funcționării sănătoase a creierului, prin urmare, sunteți stare absolută de arderea grăsimilor pentru energie.

3. Probele de sânge arată că persoanele care au postit între 12 și 24 de ore au avut o creștere de 60% a energiei din arderea grăsimilor. Cea mai mare creștere după îregistrându-se după 18 ore.

4. Alte beneficii ale postului intermitent, în afară de arederea exclusivă a grăsimilor, o mai bună sănătate cardiovasculară și reducerea apetitului, este CETOZA.

5. Procesul de ardere a grăsimilor pentru energie prin eliberearea unor substanțe chimice numite corpuri cetonici.

6. În creierului cetonii declanșează eliberarea unei molecule importante numite BDNF.

7. Moleculele BDNF sunt responsabile pentru construirea și consolidarea neuronilor și a conexiunilor neuronale în zonele creierului responsabile de învățarea și memoria.

Deci, într-o recapitulare, postul intermitent ne pune corpul în cetoză, ceea ce ne ajută în numeroase moduri, mai mult, veți descoperi că, deși oamenii încep postul intermitent ca metodă de reducere a greutății, mulți îl adaptează ca parte a unui stil de viață, datorită celorlalte 101 beneficii ale cetozei.

Am studiat temeinic cetoza din orice unghi și voi extinde pe blog mai multe despre acest proces și de ce noi oamenii am fost făcuți pentru această practică. De ce am folosit cetoza pentru a supravietui de ani de zile si de ce ne ajuta in zilele noastre la tratarea pacientilor cu dementa, in tratarea epilepsiei la copii, pentru tratarea eczemelor de zi cu zi.

De mâine plănuiesc să încep si eu postul intermitent și să înregistrez fiecare pas nu doar pe blog aici, ci și într-un VLOG pe Youtube. Dacă există ceva specific pe care ai dori să-l întrebi despre postul intermitent, cetoza sau lucrurile pe care ai vrea să le notez, te rog să-mi dai un comentariu sau un mesaj și să-mi spui. Abia aștept să încep acest post și să văd dintr-o perspectivă personală cum imi putea afecta pozitiv și negativ viața de zi cu zi.

Fasting February

Hey guys! So since my last post, both my children contracted one of the worst viruses that had been going round (both better now) – we travelled to Denmark (VLOG coming soon) and now, finallyyy it’s the 1st February and I know you guys are tired of me talking about this intermittent fasting and want me to actually get some action in. SO THE DAY IS HERE. As we spoke on the previous blog posts all about this type of fasting and how it may aid in fat loss, I really wanted to see for myself.

So since 1st January, I noted down my weight on as many mornings as I remembered to weigh myself. I also noted down the amout of cardio I did everytime I did cardio. Ps. I know cardio isn’t the only weightloss option but I literally use cardio as a relaxation method amongst doing a teeeny little bit of weights, due to timing issues, total mom life. So for now #iamarunner. Below I will note down everything as I recorded and so for February I will do the exact same thing, except I will also add in intermittent fasting! I won’t change my diet plan or the gym schedule (which is by the way non-existent, I just go when I can). And from this at the end of February I’d like to do a comparison to see if by keeping everything the same in my lifestyle and simply adding in intermittent fasting, does it have an effect on fat/weight loss?

So these are the overall stats for the month of January, today is the 2nd of February so I did START with the intermittent fasting yesterday, however, of course I only managed to post on the blog today, no thanks to babies haha! The science behind intermittent fasting.

So I’ve told you about intermittent fasting, I’ve told you all about what it means and on today’s post I’m going to be giving you guys a quick run through on what SCIENCE says about intermittent fasting, how it works and more importantly why it benefits us.

So, intermittent fasting mostly follows the 16:8 periods. That is 16 hours of fasting and an 8 hour eating window. If you don’t know what that means, you can read all about it on my previous blog post by clicking here.

When a person intermittently fasts, they often eat within the 8 hour block leaving them with the 16 hours of eating (this is just generally the most common type of intermittent fasting – some may do shorter or longer periods). This sets them apart from people who do not intermittently fast because after around 10-12 hours, the following changes take place in our body;

  1. When you eat you usually store energy in the form of glycogen in your liver, however after 10-12 hours of fasting, your glycogen levels will be extremely low. In most cases this will mean you will not only start feeling hungry but also angry a term many of us know nowadays as HANGRY, but more importantly…
  2. With little glycogen left, fat cells in your body release fat into the bloodstream. The fat that has been released make it’s way to the liver to be converted into energy for use by the body and even more importantly for continuing healthy functioning of the brain, therefore, you are LITERALLY burning fat for energy.
  3. Blood samples show people who fasted between 12-24 had a 60% increase in energy from fat. With the biggest increase after 18 hours.
  4. This is the biggest benefit of intermittent fasting aside from exclusively fat loss, better cardiovascular health and lowered appetite. It is the benefit of KETOSIS.
  5. The process of burning fat for energy releases chemicals called KETONES.
  6. In the brain ketones trigger the release of an important molecule called BDNF.
  7. BDNF is responsible for helping build and strengthen neurones and neural connections in areas of the brain responsible for learning and memory.

So in a recap, intermittent fasting puts our body in ketosis, which benefits us in all kinds of numerous ways, moreover, you’ll find that although people start intermittent fasting as a method of weight loss, many adapt it as part of a lifestyle, due to the 101 other benefits of ketosis (I mean who doesn’t want to be smarter?!).

I have thoroughly studied ketosis from every angle and I will expand on the blog all about this process and why us humans were made for this practise. Why we have been using ketosis to survive for years and why it benefits us nowadays from helping to treat dementia patients to treating epilepsy in children to treating every day eczema. From tomorrow I am planning on starting my own intermittent fasts and recording them down not only on the blog over here for you but also in VLOG form over on the tube.
